Synopsis
The Portal (Rough Cut)
Escape the portal.
The directorial debut of LEGO stop-motion animator Chris Bakyaw, The Portal is a dark sci-fi reimagining of The Magic Portal, one of the first brickfilms ever made. The story follows Jake Hansen (Chris Hillebrandt), a CEO assistant at Polis Technologies, who develops a portal capable of traveling across the multiverse. During a CES presentation, the device malfunctions and unleashes the Interferers, a hostile alien race determined to destroy every universe they encounter. Due to technical issues affecting the final cut, this presentation will feature a rough cut containing the majority of the film. The event will also include four original short films and a filmmaker’s note discussing lost footage and story elements planned for the completed version.
